State of mind: Hedvig Palm

Every week, Filippa K Circle invites inspiring people to share their current mindsets. This week model Hedvig Palm shares her thoughts.

My state of mind: Relaxed and happy but ready for upcoming work and adventures! I just had an unexpected weekend back home in Stockholm, which gave me time to recharge before leaving for work again.

I feel the most balanced when: I’m close to nature and people I love.

In relation to fashion, I have learned not to: Wear unpractical things and clothes I don’t feel comfortable in. I always want to be able to move freely, and I rather wear an extra layer rather than looking great though I’m freezing. Good style can still be practical!

My best DIY tip for making every day more sustainable: Whenever possible, use a bicycle or walk shorter distances, and use trains instead of cars. Never throw away food, be innovative and eat it tomorrow or share it with others. Reduce the meat! When it comes to fashion, don’t buy new things each season according to trend. Style your old pieces differently and use your sewing skills. I do that a lot, adding fabric or changing hems for example.

I cannot live without: Total breaks from the fashion industry, going to classical concerts or museums, taking trips to nature and seeing friends.

I’m currently reading/watching: “Mommy dearest” by Christina Crawford.

My eco-fashion prediction: I hope and think the fast-fashion industry will slow down, and that people will start considering their purchases and invest more in long living pieces instead of using shopping to cure boredom during weekends. I’m also hoping for new ways of recycling textiles and new eco-friendly materials.

My favorite organic/natural beauty product: Jojoba oil—such a multipurpose product!

My forever-favorite piece of clothing: A nice white shirt. It can be used on every occasion.

This is priceless to me: My family and my relationship to music.
