My state of mind: Imagine a bowl of fruits. Some fruits are just regular, but others are sour, colorful, exotic or new. That’s my current state of mind. I’m doing a lot of changes in my life right now; moving to another city; going full-time blogging and doing other creative projects; becoming an auntie and other thrilling events. So my mind is filled with thoughts that take me in many different directions and on exciting adventures. I can’t wait for that bowl to be filled with even more interesting and curious fruits.
I feel the most balanced when: I’ve had my second cup of coffee in the morning. I’ve never been a morning person, so waking up feeling invigorated and energized has (unfortunately) never been a gift that I’ve received for the past 26 years. But I don’t let myself scramble because of that. Second cups of coffee make me feel balanced, refreshed and clear.
In relation to fashion, I have learned not to: Rely on trends. We’re entering a broader fashion landscape filled with overwhelming impressions from social media, creatives, designers, art directors, websites and whatnot, which means we have more opinions and alternatives. So I like to set my mind into a more impulsive mood, letting myself absorb that small creative idea that pops up in my mind. Regarding trends, I might go back a few seasons or maybe even forward, who knows. As long as I feel comfortable, I’m happy!
My best DIY tip for making every day more sustainable: Don’t buy things if you don’t really want them. And give away items you don’t use! For me, it’s also important to invest in good basics, and rather spend a few more dimes on a good item that lasts, then less on one that gets ruined after the first date with the washing machine.
I cannot live without: My supporting family, my dog Topsy (she’s the best) and some good podcasts or TV-shows. I’m also a movie fan, and that’s often how I get my mental breaks during the day. And did I mention coffee?
I’m currently reading/watching: I’m reading the latest thriller about the fictional character Harry Hole called ‘The Thirst’ by Jo Nesboe. I’m watching Big Little Lies, The Walking Dead and Girls. Yup, pretty mixed taste in series right there.
My eco-fashion prediction: I think we’re heading in a direction where spending more money on fewer items is more acceptable. Designers are making more eco-friendly items, the discussions are up to date and the results keeps coming in the form of better products—more openness and less destructiveness.
My favorite organic/natural beauty product: I have so many, but I’m always carrying a Hurraw! lip balm around. Up here in the north, we have such dry weather, so to find a lip balm that actually helps can be quite a challenge. Hurraw! has so many flavors, and it’s both vegan, organic and natural!
My forever-favorite piece of clothing: A decorated and botanical coat from By Malene Birger. Such a piece! I also live in various suit pants from Filippa K—the best ones out there!
This is priceless to me: Family and friends! They come first. I couldn’t be more grateful for all the support they give me, whether it’s helping me take pictures outside when it’s raining on a Sunday, or motivating me when I’m feeling unmotivated—I’m so blessed to have them around. That’s priceless to me.
